Schering-Plough, GlaxoSmithKline, Groupe Batteur . are all well known names in Caen la mer. And they rightly deserve to be: genuine driving forces investing, each year, several million euros to improve their production capabilities, these major groups contribute significantly towards Normandy's fourth position for the production of pharmaceutical products.

A few key figures: in 6 years, the Batteur group has doubled its manpower, personnel figures rising from 300 in 1998 to 600 in 2004. Glaxo's Hérouville-Saint-Clair site produces, alone, some 56 million boxes per year! Etc.
